The social campaign that aims at educating Internet users and helping them to differentiate between audiovisual content being legally distributed on the Internet and the one that has been put there without its owners` consent. The biggest VOD (Video on Demand) platforms took part in the action initiated by the Internet Industry Employers Association IAB Polska. Watch Legally is the long-term project – in the future it is to be extended by other sectors of digital entertainment.
Websites without Barriers
The Visibles Foundation promotes building websites in accordance with WCAG 2.0 standard. Thanks to this the site content is accessible for people with visual disabilities and enables persons with visual or aural problems to be socially active, also within the digital society. The Foundation makes handbooks and training films available free of charge and provides the information on building websites without barriers. Thanks to the devices for websites` source code analysis recommended by the Foundation, Kipa.pl and Audiowizualni.pl websites have been adjusted to meet European standards and they can use (X)HTML and CSS code conformity certifications.
The Audio Description Foundation was the first Polish NGO that started activity aiming at making culture and visual arts accessible to blind and visually impaired consumers of visual media with the use of the audio description. The Foundation introduces standards of building the audio description for audiovisual productions, makes the audio description scripts database available, together with the professional ethics code of audio descriptors and their coaches, etc. The Foundation was given the recommendation of – among others - the Polish Audiovisual Producers Chamber of Commerce, the Polish Filmmakers Association, the Polish Film Institute and the National Audiovisual Institute.
