Legal Culture project is a social campaign, promoting the use of legal sources of culture, carried out by Legal Culture Foundation. Together with the campaign recipients and partners Legal Culture creates the database providing information on legal sources of culture and supports creating the new ones. It takes part in the most significant culture events in Poland and organizes educational workshops. The project`s long-term goal is to shape the consciousness of culture recipients in the new, digital reality. Legal Culture project`s aim is to make legal sources of culture more accessible by promoting the digitization of public resources, using and sharing works under license of the Creative Commons and expanding the public domain.
The Legalnakultura.pl website is the source of knowledge on authors` rights, problems they deal with at their work and new models of digital culture distribution. „Law in Culture” web page tab is highly popular among Internet users. Beyond information of legally binding acts one can also address a lawyer with a question. Thanks to the constant collaboration with the law office, answers are regularly published on the web page.
"Culture. The trick is to enjoy it together” - it is a slogan of the Legal Culture campaign. The campaign is aimed at all culture recipients – both these who use it consciously and feel responsible for it and these for whom legality of sources is not an important question yet.
In September 2012 Legal Culture was honoured with the Minister of Culture Annual Award for the achievements in the field of culture on the Internet.
